Developing Spirituality
At St. Ann’s, we recognise spirituality as an individual’s search for meaning, an exploration of one’s spirit and how this connects with the world outside. To develop our spirituality, we ask big questions to help us understand more about the world, find moments of awe and wonder in our lives and reflect on our own unique experiences. We see spirituality as a sense of there being something greater than ourselves. Our Christian context enables us to explore spirituality in the context of the Bible and faith in God, although we recognise that not all spirituality is defined by religion. Spirituality is a part of us; a window to look outwards on the world, a mirror to look inwards on our belief and values, and a door to how we can live in response.
Spiritual development is at the heart of our school vision. We strive to ignite children’s curiosity in their own spirituality and provide them with the strong foundations that will help them to begin their individual spiritual journey.
